Pee Wee Tap Tap teaches the basic tap terminology and movements through repetition, floor work, and simple choreography. Tap shoes required. (30 minute class)

Pom class teaches the fundamentals of the high school performance sport. All aspects of pom will be covered, including audition tips, basic dance skills, rhythm skills, conditioning and stretching, and pom technique. A great preparation class for students interested in trying out for a high school pom squad!

Tumble Tots is a class that builds on the basic skills taught in Baby Steps. Parent and child will continue working on gross motor skills, and begin to work on fine motor skills. (30 minute class)

Girls, ages 9 & under - 13 & under, are invited to try out for the Midland Madness Girls Basketball Club. This program is in its 11th year and provides the opportunity to Midland County female basketball players to play competitive basketball against teams not necessarily from the local area. The purpose of the club is to allow the youth of Midland County to develop their skills in an organized, competitive basketball program.

Please attend the Parent Meeting on Sunday, November 15th from 4-5 PM at the Midland Community Center in room K113A. Meeting will provide registration information, times for tryouts, practices and answer any questions.
Try-outs will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2009.

WINTER BASKETBALL LEAGUES

Leagues will operate from December 10, 2010 through March 20, 2011. Teams must have an adult coach/manager attend the mandatory organizational meeting on Thursday, November 10, 2010 at 7:00pm at the MCC.

Team registration packets will be available at the Midland Community Center Welcome Center after November 1st.
Boys will play games on Friday evenings and Saturdays.
Each team will have one pre-season practice, play eight league games and participate in a single-elimination tournament.

Get ready for your school volleyball tryouts! This clinic will meet in December and January on Mondays and Wednesdays just prior to middle school tryouts. This will be an instructional program involving every aspect of volleyball fundamentals. This league will meet in November and December on Sundays. This will be an instructional program involving every aspect of volleyball fundamentals. Skill sessions will be held every week prior to league play. Teams will play games on Sunday afternoons. Each team will be assigned a coach. Team t-shirts are included. The instructors will be local high school coaches and players.

Have you ever been to a volleyball match and thought about officiating? You used to play but, for one reason or another you aren't playing, but would still like to be involved. Well, now is your chance.The MCC is looking for people with some volleyball knowledge to officiate in our leagues. We will be offering an officials clinic for those interested in officiating in the Community Center leagues. The caliber of the leagues varies from recreational to highly skilled. U.S.A. Volleyball rules will be covered as well as Midland Community Center rule modifications. The class will meet one Sunday for two and half hours and involves both classroom and on-court learning experience, so bring your whistle. This class will prepare the enrolee to officiate in the MCC volleyball leagues. If you have played some kind of organized volleyball, you can officiate in our leagues. The class is free for anyone refereeing in the Midland Community Center volleyball league program. The rule books will be available at an additional charge. Every official is required to purchase a current rule book. Returning MCC officials are required to attend. The Midland Community Center offers men's and women's volleyball leagues in the fall for all levels. Leagues will be offered Monday - Thursday with individual leagues playing the same night each week. The season runs 14 weeks with 2 additional weeks of practice before the season starts. Practices will be officiated. Get a group of co-workers together, your softball team, church group, or just a group of friends together and join in on the fun. The organizational meeting will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at 7:30pm. Teams must have a representative attend the meeting. Information regarding make up of teams and registration, practice, and nights of play will be covered at this meeting. Dodge Ball Tournament October 24, 2010! Three matches guaranteed to all teams. Each match is best out of three games. There will be mandatory rules meeting at 9:30am for all managers prior to beginning of tournament. Registration deadline is October 22, 2010. After registration deadline the sponsor fee is $65. With the purchase of a daily drop-in fee, drop in pickleball is Sundays from 2:00pm till 5:00pm for youth and adult.
