Northwood Student Entrepreuners Bring Community Discounts.
The Midland Community Center has partnered with local Northwood University student entrepreneurs in an effort to promote community savings with local businesses. Started by Brad Gladstone and Kyle Johnson, the local business named GladCounts, has focused on community savings.
The Midland Community Center is distributing these cards for $16. It offers Midland residents’ discounts at many restaurants, stores, attractions, services, and more. Proceeds from the cards will be used to support Midland School Sports Programs.
The local business that have partnered with GladCounts include: Amazing Deli, Angelita’s Coffee House, Boric’s, Curves, Domino’s Pizza, Fazoli’s, Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe, Grand Traverse Pie Company, Great Lakes Ice Cream Company, Hungry Howie’s Pizza, Nature’s Gift Organic Market, Northern Lanes, Quiznos, Shining Star Taxi, Smitty’s Iron Works, and Verizon.
“Their entrepreneurial spirit, especially in our economic times, is a breath of fresh air,” said Kevin Heye, Executive Director of the MCC. “We hope visitors to MCC will take advantage of this great opportunity not only to save money, but to support local businesses and our young entrepreneurs.”
GladCounts mission is to enhance purchasing power, encourage exchange, and enliven community spirit – one person, one card at a time. Brad Gladstone is an Accounting/Management BBA and Johnson is an Entrepreneurship/Management BBA, both from Northwood University.
